Supermarket Tesco has enhanced its employee wellbeing offering.

The organisation’s more than 300,000 UK employees can now access mindfulness and stress-reduction activities that directly target stress issues in fast-paced retail environments through the retailer’s ongoing partnership with employee wellbeing platform provider Wellhub,

Employees can access fitness options to suit all budget levels, resources for specific employee resource groups, including parents’ wellbeing and women’s health initiatives, and fitness facilities and wellbeing resources tailored to individual needs regardless of role or location.

They can also pay to add family members to their plan, take part in organisation-wide wellbeing challenges to drive participation in health and wellbeing activities, as well as access 3,000 fitness facilities.

Tesco employees can access the Wellhub app through a one-click registration process, removing key barriers to participation and becoming more user-friendly.

The platform addresses Tesco’s three pillars of wellbeing, which include healthy body, healthy mind, and nutrition, and is part of its continued commitment to employee wellbeing. Around 25,000 Tesco employees are already enrolled users of the platform, and its aim is to extend this support to more of its workforce.

Dhavani Bishop, head of group colleague health and wellbeing at Tesco, said: “After six years of partnership, Wellhub has evolved from simply being a gym benefit, by becoming more holistic proposition, aligning with our wellbeing strategy. The increased accessibility of physical locations and the range of choice appeals to our diverse employee base. With the streamlined one-click registration, and access to physical fitness, mental wellbeing and family health, we’re excited to relaunch this enhanced programme across our UK and Republic of Ireland businesses.”

“Accessibility is key to helping us drive engagement for all our employees wherever they work. The new one-click registration and the wider range of options will mean our workers have access to support that fits their needs and lifestyle. This next chapter is about deepening what’s already working and bringing even more value to our staff.”
