Juro

Juro communicates its pension scheme through the use of technology and clear, digestible information.

The contracting platform embeds artificial intelligence (AI) contract automation in everyday tools to enable organisations to agree and manage end-to-end contracts while ensuring full legal control. Headquartered in London, its 104-strong workforce is distributed across the UK, Latvia, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands and Germany.

Juro communicates its defined contribution (DC) group personal pension plan to its employees by clearly explaining it through a central easy-to-navigate page on Notion, the productivity and note-taking app, which outlines what staff receive, contribution models and percentages, and how to access their pension.

The organisation also links from Notion to a dedicated page from its pension scheme provider Penfold, which helps to demystify pensions and answer common questions in plain language.

While its pension scheme is only available to UK-based employees, it aims to provide equivalent local schemes in other countries, based on local employment standards and regulations. The core principles of how it communicates pensions remain the same, but the specific content varies depending on the local provider. Internal Notion pages are tailored to reflect country-specific benefits, and any local pension communications are managed in the same way as the UK scheme.

Abigail Cooper, people operations specialist at Juro, says: “During onboarding, we walk employees through the key details of their pension and benefits, and provide space for questions. We also host regular financial wellbeing workshops with question-and-answer segments, which are recorded and made accessible on demand for remote employees.”

The organisation ensures that everyone has multiple touchpoints to receive support and ask questions. These include the Notion and Penfold pages, which employees can access at any time, and ad-hoc support via Slack or direct messages to people team members, who can signpost or escalate questions if needed.

Juro tries to simplify complex topics and cut through pension jargon by making use of its provider’s visual materials, including posters and explainer videos, to make information more engaging and easier to understand. Its resources published on its Notion page are broken down into clear, digestible sections.

“The pages do a great job of breaking down key concepts without overwhelming employees with technical language,” adds Cooper.

To help employees understand the true value of their pension, Juro runs financial wellbeing sessions in partnership with Penfold to give a broader view of how pensions fit into employees’ long-term financial goals.

“These sessions help contextualise pensions as a key part of total compensation, rather than just a deduction from pay,” says Cooper.
