Attendees at the Employee Benefits Awards 2024

Ministry of Justice and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have been shortlisted in the category Best public sector benefits at the Employee Benefits Awards 2025.

This award, which was introduced in 2023, is aimed at public sector organisations that cover public goods or government services, such as law enforcement, the military, infrastructure, public transport, public education, healthcare and government organisations.

The full category shortlist is:

  • Ministry of Justice
  • Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Last year, South Staffordshire College scooped the award due to its aim of maximising its reach and providing tailored support to employees that would create a talking point with their friends and family, as well as building a positive employer brand.

To achieve its strategy of making it a great place to work, it looked at what it could do outside of the minimum requirements to ensure staff would feel looked after. This included introducing a variety of health benefits and parental leave options, as well as wellbeing and financial support.

A South Staffordshire College spokesperson said: “We do some much for our staff to make a difference and we’re pleased to be recognised for that. We send emails to staff on their birthdays, work anniversaries and achievements to celebrate them and their hard work. It’s great to be recognised outside of our sector. The impact that we’ve had on staff and their lives has been amazing.”

The 23rd annual Employee Benefits Awards is the event of the year for the reward, benefits and HR industry, providing the opportunity to recognise and celebrate organisations, teams and individuals that made a significant difference through their reward and benefits strategies in 2024.

The daytime event, which will be held at the Honourable Artillery Company, London on Friday 27 June, will include a drinks reception, three-course meal, entertainment and the chance to network with industry professionals.
